The Fine Art of Giving

As with nearly all performing arts organizations, earned revenues from ticket sales never cover expenses. That's part of the reason why we're called a "not-for-profit" organization. In fact, we're a certified, 501 C3 organization as recognized by the IRS.

This means that your contribution to the Kentucky Bach Choir is fully tax-deductible. With this revered status, we're allowed to solicit donations from individuals plus grant requests and sponsorships from corporations and foundations. We couldn't function without these extra sources of revenue.

When you examine the giving levels shown at the left, imagine how you might support our important mission with a cash gift. Knowing that revenues from ticket sales represent only about 32% of our expenses, we must make up the difference with extraordinary, outside fund-raising efforts.

Our annual fund-raiser, the beguiling BACHtoberfest, makes up a small portion of this difference. We also receive a portion from the annual Audrey Rooney Vocal Competition to benefit young, aspiring singers. Still, we must continually expand our fund-raising efforts to ensure that we're able to present distinguished performances of great music by master composers.

Because individual donations have become a critical source of unearned income, I ask you to consider making a gift to the Kentucky Bach Choir. Simply click the yellow "Donate" button at the left and follow the directions. This is a secure, protected transaction through PayPal.

Please know that your gift, at any level, is precious to us and vital to our mission. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration, for your patronage, and for your invaluable support of the Kentucky Bach Choir, a jewel in the crown of the Commonwealth.

My most sincere and abiding thanks,

Susan Byars, President
